Give Thanks
WHAT IS A GOOD STEWARD?
A good steward can be defined as ome who has four specific qualities.
GRATEFUL. Thanking God daily for the blessings he or she has received. A good steward never
stops saying "thank you."
RESPONSIBLE with the blessings that God has bestowed. Using them prudently and making sure
that they do not wither away. Its that way with all gifts, especially the gift of faith. Parents are good stewards when they care for, protect and nurture their children's natural aptitude for faith,
beginning in the tender years of early childhood.
SHARING. A good steward knows that It Is better to give than to receive. In giving we receive
far more than we could ever have Imagined.
ACCOUNTABLE. Remember the parable of the stewards to whom the master had entrusted the silver
pieces. They had to render an account of their stewardship. One day, you and I will have to stand in accountability before the judgment seat of God. And God will ask: What did you do with the time that
you had? What did you do with all the gifts that I gave you? What did you do with your life?
Hopefully you can say, "Lord, I tried to thank you every day. I tried to be responsible with those gifts. And I tried to share those gifts with others. Please God, and He may respond," Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the Joy of your master (Mathew 25:21)
Simply Giving is a reliable, safe way to move your stewardship plan Into action. It allows you
to share your gifts through planned giving and activates your generosity into ongoing stewardship. Because your gift is given consistently, you won't need to play "catch-up" at yearend or
worry about forgotten checkbooks or missed Sunday offerings.
But you're not the only one that benefits. The congregation benefits from steady, more
predictable revenues throughout the year, more efficient bookkeeping and greater confidence in meeting its financial commitments. Enrollment forms are available in the church office.
