From the Youth Director…Carmen
You may not know it by the weather but it will soon be May (no more snow
please!).
And what a busy month it is...both with activities here at church and within the community. The youth are wrapping up their school year and trying to fit everything in...prom, sporting events, service projects, and class assignments. There are concerts to attend, awards programs to be a part of and Baccalaureate for the seniors.
At church we have the Confirmation meal (hosted by the 7th grade), review, pictures and
rehearsal for Rite of Confirmation which is on the Day of Pentecost at 11:00 worship (and it is also Mother's Day).
Take a breath...here we go...there's more! We have our regular meetings, council, committees, bell and vocal choir practice, confirmation and ASK. On the 18th of May we honor our graduating
seniors (Jr. class is hosting a breakfast for them), who will help lead 8:30 worship.
At the 11:00 worship we celebrate The Holy Trinity with the Sunday school children, their teachers, co-superintendents and music leaders.
There's "movie night" for grades 1-4 on the 21st and Baccalaureate at First for the graduating seniors on the 28th.
Wow! That is one full month! "Bit seek first His kingdom and his righteousness…"
Matthew 6:33a. Let us, during this busy time, keep God first, praying that his Holy Spirit will direct us, guide us, comfort us and give us strength to do what needs to be done
during this busy time.
Please keep pastor and all of us on staff in your prayers during this busy
time. Keep the confirmation girls; Kari, Amanda, Lauren and Jackie in your prayers as they prepare to affirm their faith.
Keep the Graduating seniors in your prayers; may they always know that God loves them, no matter where they go or what they do. Keep the Sunday school children in your prayers; may they be kind and caring to others, showing others the love of God. Keep our congregation in your prayers. Help us to remember that it is all from God, who made us, that we are able to do what we have to do in order to expand His ministry. It is the Holy Spirit that gives us the guidance and strength to go about our everyday lives. It is the Spirit that works through us to show others what God is like.
"But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With man this is impossible, but
with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26. Go in peace, serve the Lord.
